The most important thing to remember is to do your work before tryouts. Every coach in the nation has some type of pre-season and/or off-season workouts. Find out when they are and go make yourself known.
Also, coaches aren't just looking at talent. Yes it’s important, but it does not dictate everything. What does matter is how you hold yourself, if you loudly and clearly communicate with your teammates, and your overall form of aggressiveness when you play. Talented shooters can have an off day, but if they keep shooting well taken shots, keep their head up, and do what they must on the defensive end, then they’ll still make a good impression on the coach.
